After more than 16 years in the fire service, Dan Imhoff recognized a common challenge on the fireground: firefighters were expected to carry essential forcible entry tools while keeping their hands free for the job.

Drawing on his experience as a firefighter, lieutenant, paramedic, and Special Operations team member, Dan set out to develop a safer, more efficient carrying system designed specifically for the realities of the fire service.

Following extensive testing, field evaluation, and real-world feedback, the original FRE Tool Shoulder Strap was developed—one of the first purpose-built systems designed to carry a Halligan tool hands-free while remaining deployment ready.
